Hi Sarah
This looks a great tool when i get my head around it.
I have a few questions:
I’m unable to save the Flower plan.
Will i be able to adjust seeding dates etc to fit the moon cycles? can this be programmed into the data
set?
How will it calculate growing days? i’m in New Zealand temperate climate -zone 10 we may get 14+ frosts
between June-September and these can fluctuate from year to year.
regards
Barbara

Hey Barbra! What do you mean you are unable to save the Flower plan? Once you check all your boxes and click the button – it should download a PDF for you. Is that the part that seems broken for you?
I’m not the best person to ask about moon cycles. I personally haven’t studied it. Have you I know it’s worked out really well for some people. Do you have any recommendations for me to read? Maybe there is a way I can incorporate it.
I can look into Zone 10 some more. I know those are the tricky ones. I think for the FA, set your last frost date to September for calendar. But you could probably get away with planting your cold hardys in June.

Hi Sarah
Got the download sorted thank you, its because i had fiddled with the numbers and it didn’t like it.
I find Moon planting works well for me stops plants from going to seed to quickly and gives me a plan to work with. There is heaps of info on the internet but gets very confusing so i refer to this Moon calendar chart.

Its really easy to follow, print two then trim dates of the top disc attach with a drawing pin. Once a month rotate disc so the date of the New moon coincides with the New moon on the disc- Leave in place for the month reading around the chart.
Yes i have planted cold hardys in June its just tricky early spring when out of the blue we get a frost most of the winter is temperate. I think I could plant out in September but need to throw a frost cloth over the seedlings for a month or two just in case.
Happy gardening Barbara

Hi Sarah,
WEll I have no frost date, and the program will not let me go further without adding it. what shall I do?
Thank you, A~
Sarah
Amy,
The program still needs to know when you plan to start at this point. Maybe there are things that we can do in the future to make it more suitable to warmer climates. Try just picking a date a see how it turns out, then you can play around with when the season should start and end.

Really excited to get up and running with this. Full time job and 3 youngkids means I need constant reminders.

Laurie McNavichIt sounds like we have the same life! I’m glad it’ll be useful for you.

New to your product but zones would be helpful on your list of 45

When succession planting, do you save a space beside what you have already planted or do you place other flowers planted at the same time beside it and plant the next succession at a different spot? Also, should you group flowers by color? I know to keep Sunflowers together, but other flowers that you might not plant as much of what is your method of succession planting? I have many different seeds and not sure how to go about succession planting and how much of each seed to plant.Ive heard of planting a recipe of flowers in one succession, is that what I should do? I wasn’t able to get my cool flowers planted in the Fall, so I’m going to early Spring plant. Do any of these cool flowers last after June? I live in zone 7B which it gets hot in July. Thanks!!!!

Thanks for the email. Got in just fine today.
So far, so good. I haven’t gotten very far, but this is what I see:
1. While I have the info in front of me, I would like to add planting depths, temp for germination, and other notes to the additional variety list. Possible?
2. I think deadheading, bucket washing could be another tasks added to this program.
3. Vacation week, Farmer market days, bouquet/delivery days. How do we plan these in? Or will all this come later?
4. On the calendar for the same date, I see “Plant Ammi #1.” “Transplant Ammi #1.” Is there a setting I’m missing?
Thanks again,
Diane

Is there a way to add a greater amount of varieties where it says “add a variety”? I have a large number of varieties, and it only allowed me to put in that amount and then I couldn’t put in anymore.
Allison Cates
Also is there a way to customize when things can be started? For instance, I usually want hot biscuits amaranth in the fall, but the flower assistant put it blooming in April. Is there a connection between the seed starting and transplant calculator with the flower assistant or is that totally separate?
Megan Fox
Ditto Allison’s question. I would like to be able to plan blooming of certain varieties around different seasons/holidays.
Justin Funk
Megan FoxThis year’s version doesn’t have that feature. I’ll think about how to implement that!

I finally finished my seed buying so I could get my calendar done I just spent an hour adding my seeds and go to download at the bottom and get this. I have no idea what all this means but this is the second time I have had issues trying to download. I am so bummed. Does this mean I have to start all over again? I had to add about 15 flowers separate that are not on the list. This is so frustrating. I cant go back to fix something when I dont know what any of this means.

Dawn DixonUgh. Dawn. I’m so sorry! If you have the window still open, you should be able to refresh the page. We made a fix to it that should prevent this from happening, but it’s hard to know for sure.
We also added the “Save my progress for later” link at the bottom of the page.

Every time I’ve hit download it says “This site can’t be reached, the website might be temporarily down or it may have been moved permanently to a new address” Do you know what that would be?
Justin Funk
