In the face of all the tragedy of late – one of the upsides is seeing people come together and offer what they have to help each other.
Here’s a few of my favorite resources on the web for market farmers right now (including a few I’ve put together)!
general farm Resources:
- GrazeU is offering a free 60 day pass to their Perishable Online Shipping Launchpad
- FarmAid has my personal favorite article roundup of resources for farmers
- National Young Farmer’s Coalition has a list of direct sales sites
- Farmer’s Market Coalition regularly updates their site with the latest info and guidelines to help keep your customers safe
There are a lot of other articles out there – my suggestion is to Google your state + aid for farmers and see what pops up in your area. I haven’t spent much time researching whether or not aid packages are available for flower farmers in addition to vegetable farmers and ranchers – so if you know or have more info on that, please let me know!
GrowFlowers Resources:
I’ve spent the last few weeks wracking my brain trying to think of what I could offer to support you guys. I’m fortunate in that since I am just starting at my new place I don’t have flowers to sell at the moment. My plan for this year is to start my business, so we don’t currently rely on any income I make, which, given current circumstances, is a huge blessing.
The Growflowers Shop:
So here’s what I’ve decided to do:
I’ve reopened my shop – and everything – EVERYTHING – in it is “Name Your Price”
That means that if you literally have zero dollars, pay zero dollars (including the Flower Farm Planner Course!). You pick whatever you want to pay (or not pay) at checkout.
I’m so excited about this – hopefully these resources will help you get to a better place by the end of your growing season.
Free Sales Page – MyLocalcsa
Secondly, my sister-in-law and I created an online sales page software for market farmers. Since so many of us have to switch to online sales, we are doing the back end work for you to get your farm set up to accept sales and subscriptions.
You can check out MyLocalCSA by clicking here.
Not only, that, we are also setting up a directory on MyLocalCSA of farms. It’s completely free to list your farm, we just thought that since people are searching {town + CSA} that anything we can do to help get your farm in front of more people is worth it!
Click on the images above to sign up your farm! And like I said above, if you have any additional resources I should add to this list, let me know in the comments. Stay well, friends. And know that my heart goes out to you as we all grieve.
